“Heads of State,” released on July 2, 2025, is a high-octane action-comedy directed by Ilya Naishuller. The film brings together an unlikely and antagonistic duo: Will Derringer (John Cena), a former action star who has become the charismatic, if somewhat inexperienced, President of the United States, and Sam Clarke (Idris Elba), the stern, no-nonsense Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and a former commando.The two leaders, already at odds due to their contrasting personalities and a public rivalry, are forced into an uneasy alliance when a joint flight on Air Force One, intended to showcase their unity, is targeted by a ruthless Russian arms dealer named Viktor Gradov (Paddy Considine). Now on the run and without their usual security detail, Will and Sam must rely on each other’s very different skills to survive and uncover the conspiracy against them. They soon cross paths with the presumed-dead MI6 agent Noel Bisset (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), who shares a romantic history with Sam and becomes their vital protector and guide.

As they navigate a wild, multinational chase across Central Europe, dodging assassins and trying to expose the global plot, the film leverages the comedic chemistry between Cena and Elba, who constantly bicker and challenge each other’s methods. Priyanka Chopra Jonas delivers a standout performance in intense action sequences, serving as the “muscle” of the film.
