StoryLine:

“Maa” (meaning “Mother”), a Hindi mythological horror film, was released in theaters on June 27, 2025. When Shuvankar’s father passes away in his ancestral village of Chandarpur, West Bengal, Shuvankar reluctantly visits for the last rites, despite having severed all ties to the place due to a mysterious past. The film builds tension as Ambika, aided by a family friend (Ronit Roy), realizes she must confront this malevolent force. The climax sees Ambika, fueled by maternal rage and a powerful connection to the goddess, channel the divine feminine power of Kali to protect her daughter and fight the curse.
