“Loveria” (2013) is a Bengali romantic comedy that follows the unconventional love story of Aditya (Soham Chakraborty), a middle-class computer engineer who, due to recession, works as a car mechanic in his own garage. His mother is eager for him to marry. One day, Aditya encounters Sweety (Puja Banerjee), a wealthy, spoiled, and hot-tempered young woman. With Sweety eventually recognizing Aditya’s genuine love and resolve, she supports him. The film then becomes a comedic yet determined battle of wits as Aditya employs clever schemes to systematically dismantle Shantimoy’s empire, leading to a dramatic climax where all misunderstandings are cleared, and love triumphs over class distinctions and pride.
