“Bloody Mary,” released in 2022, is a Telugu-language crime thriller film that centers on three orphaned childhood friends – Mary (Nivetha Pethuraj), Raju (Rajkumar Kasireddy), who is deaf, and Basha (Kireeti Damaraju), who is mute. Mary, now working as a nurse, is the protective and resourceful leader of the trio. Their lives take a dramatic turn when they inadvertently become entangled in a murder case. These events draw the attention of CI Prabhakar (Ajay), a shrewd and somewhat corrupt police officer who has personal reasons for pursuing them.

The film then becomes a cat-and-mouse game as Mary, despite her own struggles (including partial blindness, which she cleverly conceals), uses her wit and street smarts to outmaneuver Prabhakar. She orchestrates a blackmail scheme, leveraging the murder video against him. As the plot thickens, Mary also uncovers a larger conspiracy involving Sekhar Babu (Brahmaji), a powerful local businessman who was responsible for the orphanage attack and her mother’s death. She cunningly pits Prabhakar against Sekhar Babu, leading to a violent confrontation where she ultimately seeks her revenge. The film culminates with Mary, under a new alias, becoming a powerful figure, hinting at her transformation into a “mass hero” and setting the stage for a potential sequel.
